![]() Try to be in the water by day 75 to leave time to sail home. As soon as the wet season ends (day 60), clean the branches, assemble the raft and set sail once you are ready (don't forget your flares and signal mirror). I usually leave my mammal skins in the Jungle to cure, as they won't be stolen by monkeys or storms, along with ropes and some extra long sticks. I usually salt the first boar I kill and stash the meat for the trip home. Avoid fighting pigs directly for safety reasons (unless you invest in a sling, which is OP at boar killing), but setting up a log trap in the Wetlands or Jungle will get you some good leather. You also need a lot of hide, so kill every monkey you can (scrap spear will get the job done). ![]() ![]() Unlocking the raft is key, so get out there and explore like crazy (usually I work through the lower coast - Bay, Jungle, Grassland, Mangroves). Anything you need that requires a Hide (waterskins, drum), try to use reptile. ![]() Start cutting palms in the Bay (but just leave them as fallen trees) and harvesting skin and fiber for the raft ASAP. Survivalist gear (for the axe and camp stove - AKA the best firestarter), Sailor, Courage, Night Vision, Specialized Kidneys, Macaque Curse and start in the Plane Crash (it gives you a good base, plus extra starting gear) with all skills and a survival trunk 3000, plus all the perks for health and safety (pain tolerance, bug resistance, loner, optimist, etc). It's not too hard (or wasn't before the food changes).
